When should I consult an ENT and an audiologist?
If you are experiencing any kind of pain or ear infection, consult an ENT.
If you have problem only in hearing without any pain or infections, you can directly consult an audiologist for the service. -
Is hearing loss permanent?
Hearing loss due to any outer or middle ear problems can be treated and there are chances that you may regain your hearing abilities.
But if the hearing loss is due to inner ear or at the brain cortical levels, there is no possibility to regain your hearing levels. You might require a hearing device (aid) to hear the sounds clearly. -
How does the hearing aid help us in hearing?
Hearing aid amplifies the sounds and sends into the ear which helps you to hear all those low sounds that you were missing.

Does hearing aid help in reducing my hearing loss?
Hearing aids doesn't reduce your hearing loss. It just enhances the sounds and sends to the ear.

Does the hearing aid help to stop the progression in hearing loss?
No, hearing aids can't stop the progression in hearing loss. But wearing a hearing aid regularly can minimise the pace of progression in hearing loss.

Can hearing aid be suitable to all types of hearing loss?
Hearing aids can be suitable to all types and all degrees of hearing loss except in certain high profound hearing loss patients.
A hearing aid is prescribed by an Audiologist according to the type and the loss pattern. So, it is always recommended to consult an Audiologist for a Hearing aid fitting. -
Can we get hearing aids from online and directly use it?
It is not authorized to take a Hearing aid without the prescription of an Audiologist. It is always recommended to consult an Audiologist directly for a hearing aid. Hearing aids needs to be programmed or adjusted for that particular hearing loss and then be fitted into the ear. So we can't use it directly

Is it important to see any signs of hearing loss in the early stages (0 - 3 years) of a child?
It is very important to identify the child with hearing loss in early stages and get treated. Otherwise their communication can be completely get affected. So always consult an audiologist immediately if you find any signs of hearing loss in children.

I must appreciate the dedication therapist@kalyani madam put in to make the kids come over their speech delays and behaviour issues.
